Steve & jenny’s WEDDING

These two got married a year ago and this week Nom got to catch up with them and their new baby Oliver. You can catch up on that update on our blog here.

But first, back to the wedding reminiscing about this beautiful day at Salford Hall.

wedding morning preparations

Jenny got ready at home with all her bridesmaids. We love this group of friends, they’re so much fun and make the perfect bride tribe, they’ve been together since school and know exactly how to care for each other.

Steve was over at his parents with his groomsmen. They were well catered for with lunch prepared by his Mum. (We love mums who shot love through food!). There were lots of stories told of their teenage memories at that house, preparations for nights out back then were a little different to getting ready for a wedding.

the wedding ceremony at St Leonard’s, Beoly

The guys arrived at St Leonard’s to put the final things in place and greet guests as they arrived. It’s a traditional church with a winding path leading down to the front door and sunlight streaming in through the stained glass windows. It’s a very peaceful setting to get married in.

Jenny and the bridesmaids arrived by wedding car. It was sweet to see some of their family waiting to see them walk into the church. The bridal procession included the cutest little ones, Steve & Jenny’s neices and nephews were their adorable flower girls and page boys.

Steve had to dab away a tear or two as Jenny walked down the aisle with her Dad. They made it through their vows and went up near the alter to sign the schedule, with their sisters as witnesses. Newly married, they led the procession out into the sunshine. We took some bridal party photos by the church before they made their way through a confetti tunnel to the wedding car.

their wedding reception at Salford Hall

There were drinks and canapes for everyone as they arrived at Salford Hall. Guests chatted in the garden as we took some family photos over on the lawn.

When it was time for the meal everyone made their way through the building to the marquee. They started with the speeches which were very entertaining. The three best men ended in the most ridiculous way by toasting the bride and groom with a drinking challenge (and custom-made wedding bibs to keep their suits clean). Then we tucked into a feast! The wedding breakfast was a hog roast followed by dessert platters.

It was the perfect evening to play games out on the lawn. More guests arrived for the party and we got the photo booth going with the kids (and quickly the adults joined in).

The wedding party

Steve and Jenny cut their wedding cake and started the party with their beautiful first dance. Malc was very excited to see the band, Super Freak, their bassist used to play in one of his favourite bands. Of course, they were a lot of fun all night.

After dark everyone wandered outside again this time for some sparklers. Because this merry crowd are who they are even the most romantic sparkler session included a little bit of stag do chanting of Steve’s personal theme song.

All in all a fantastic celebration of this wonderful couple. Happy anniversary Steve & Jenny! Hope you have a wonderful time celebrating today as a family.
