Tom & Julia’s Wedding

Right before the first lockdown in March 2020 Tom & Julia made the decision to bring their wedding date forward. They got married within 48 hours. Their friends and family absolutely crushed it!

They planned an intimate 30 person outdoor wedding and provided separate seating for each household. It was such a wonderful plan and we’re so glad they went for it.

wedding preparations

A Whatsapp group was speedily set up and we all spent the morning tracking the delivery of Julia’s wedding dress. It was out for delivery but didn’t look like it would arrive in time for the ceremony. So a friend intercepted the delivery man to make sure Julia would be able to wear it.

The same WhatsApp group also shared all the wedding details and later the song lyrics for their wedding service. Very clever thinking.

their outdoor wedding ceremony

Tom and some of the guys arrived first to set the stage. Guests started arriving and got stuck in helping to set things up and decorate. Then the squad of flower girls and page boys arrived, a sign that things were ready to get started. Julia and her Dad had possibly the longest aisle walk all the way across the lawn to where the guests were waiting. The atmosphere was alive!

The service was wonderful. With the legal bits taken care of the previous evening, they could really focus on vows, words and songs.

Tom & Julia choose to have speeches at this point too before moving on from the ceremony. Guests tucked into hampers of goodies provided at their seats, including drinks for the toasts. There was a crowd watching online so we raised a glass to them too.
One of my favourite moments was the whole crowd singing a surprise song for them as they walked back down the aisle. It was such a happy way to finish their celebration.

We gathered a few relaxed group shots and then had time for photos of the two of them around the field they had just got married in.

And that was it- short and oh so sweet.

Congratulations Tom & Julia! And thank you so much for this day of joy and hope- Nom x
