Danny & Julia's wedding at Wortley Hall, Sheffield

A sunshine filled Sheffield wedding with countryside views

Danny and Julia’s wedding had that perfect mix of heartfelt and hilarious, set across a beautiful church ceremony and a big celebration at Wortley Hall near Sheffield.

wedding morning preparations

Julia got ready at home, surrounded by her bridesmaids and a proper buzz of excitement. The girls arrived with a personalised bottle of bubbles, which felt like the perfect way to start the day. Hair was underway, dresses were steaming, and there was that growing sense that something special was about to happen. As they left the house, Julia shared a first look with her dad before he drove her to the ceremony.

Danny got ready at the church with the groomsmen and his dad, who was also his best man. It felt relaxed and full of anticipation. Outside, there were some impressive logistics happening on the busy Ecclesall Road to create space for the wedding cars to park, so a big thank you is owed to the unofficial parking team who made sure it all ran smoothly.

Inside the church, the sunshine streaming through the windows was unreal. It lit up the whole ceremony and gave everything this warm, golden feel. The service itself was super chilled, with kids playing happily at the back and friends contributing in meaningful ways throughout. It felt personal and full of people who really know them.

After the ceremony, we grabbed a quick photo of Danny and Julia on the church steps before they headed back inside to cut the cake with all their guests gathered around. Friends served it up with tea and coffee, which felt like the perfect moment with their people.

Everyone then joined us on the front steps to shower them in confetti as they headed off to the wedding car.

their wedding reception at Wortley Hall

We followed Danny and Julia through the Sheffield countryside, stopping for some photos with the car when they arrived at Wortley Hall. The grounds there are stunning, and we took a wander for couple portraits, making the most of the setting.

There was, however, a shocking number of ladybirds. Truly something we have never seen before. So we adapted and took the family group photos down in the woodland area where the air was cooler and the ladybirds slightly less enthusiastic. It turned out beautifully and felt very natural.

Guests enjoyed drinks before the wedding breakfast in one of Wortley Hall’s gorgeous wood panelled rooms. The details in there are incredible. That chandelier alone deserves a shout out. During the meal, there was a lot of laughter around the tables, including guests giving each other temporary tattoos, even Danny’s Grandma got involved.

Speeches were exactly what you would expect from this group. Both dads were ridiculous in the best way, full of jokes and stories that had the whole room in stitches. At one point, one of Danny’s mates fell fast asleep during his dad’s speech, which only added to the chaos. Danny brought a touch more calm and sincerity to balance it all out.

After dinner, guests spilled out into the gardens and lounges to relax. Evening guests began to arrive while Danny and Julia took a quiet breather before rejoining the party. Some of our favourite shots from this wedding are in these little in-between moments.

Their grand entrance down the staircase at Wortley Hall was a proper moment. They were met by a cheering crowd and led everyone straight through to the dancefloor. The evening kicked off with a father-daughter dance before Danny and Julia had their first dance, quickly joined by their guests.

We set up the photo booth in the corner of the room, which turned into a steady stream of laughter and questionable posing choices. It added to the fun without ever taking over the room.

Later on, we slipped outside for some after dark portraits. Julia had changed into her second outfit, and with the full moon overhead, the vibe was calm and a little bit magical. A quiet contrast to the energy inside.

Back in the main room, dancing continued, the buffet came out, and the celebration rolled on exactly as it should at a Sheffield wedding like this. Big laughs, full dancefloor, and a whole lot of joy.
