Holme Pierrepont Hall Wedding | Nottingham | Emily & Mark

Their engagement photos

We loved capturing Emily & Mark’s Holme Pierrepont Hall wedding in beautiful Nottinghamshire… We’d been looking forward to it for a long time.

We first met Emily when she was the florist at a wedding in her hometown of Sheffield. Naturally, we ended up having a proper chat while setting up the photo booth (as you do). Fast forward to her own wedding day and it felt like photographing old friends.

Wedding Morning Preparations

Mark got ready at home in Nottingham and we loved that it felt real. A work in progress house. Potatoes growing in the garden. Groomsmen hanging out outside. It was relaxed, full of laughs, and exactly how a wedding morning should feel.

Meanwhile, Emily was getting ready at a nearby Airbnb. There were so many genuinely lovely moments: her dad carefully steaming her dress (which might be one of our favourite dad duties ever), sweet little anklet gifts, and of course… Emily doing the flowers herself. Once a florist, always a florist.

It was calm. Thoughtful. Full of small details.

The Wedding Ceremony at Cornerstone Church Nottingham

Emily and Mark chose Cornerstone Church in Nottingham for their ceremony. It’s a big, welcoming church building with beautiful, tall windows that let the light pour in.

There were warm welcomes from friends, lots of giggles during the service, and children happily weaving between legs and seats. The atmosphere felt joyful and completely unforced. We even bumped into an old friend on guitar, which always makes the day feel even more personal.

After the ceremony, the church family had organised tea and cake (and more cake) so everyone could celebrate together before heading off to the reception. It was such a lovely way to include all their friends and make the day feel shared.

About This Holme Pierrepont Hall Wedding

Holme Pierrepont Hall is one of Nottinghamshire’s most beautiful historic houses, still lived in by the family who own it and the setting couldn’t have been more perfect for a sunny celebration

The garden courtyard was glowing in the sunshine as ABJ Catering served canapés and kept everyone hydrated. Kids blew bubbles. Guests found shady corners to chat. We stole Emily and Mark away briefly for photos on the grand staircase, then headed upstairs to the long gallery lined with old paintings where the light was doing magical things.

Honestly, that room!

Speeches, Sunshine & Lawn Games

Speeches were a highlight (they always are when there’s history involved). Emily’s dad shared stories from his days as a Green Party candidate and even brought out a drawing Emily had made as a child — which he’d kept all these years.

As the evening light softened, we headed back out into the gardens for bridal party photos in that golden glow.

First dance? Done. And then instead of staying inside… everyone charged straight back outdoors because the weather was too good not to.

There were lawn games. Serious competition involving cans on sticks. Guests lounging inside on sofas. It felt like the best kind of house party … just in a historic hall.

80s Bangers & A Sparkler Exit

Emily’s uncle Paul, a radio DJ, took over the decks for an hour of solid 80s bangers. Malc’s personal highlight was dancing with Mark to Smash Mouth – All Star (as it should be).

As the night drew in, a smaller circle of family and close friends gathered for a sparkler exit, which was the perfect glowing end to a sunshine-filled Nottingham wedding day.

“We have thoroughly enjoyed looking through the photos of our wedding and seeing the day captured so beautifully. Your energy and enthusiasm on the day was amazing and especially in the heat!! We continue to be amazed how much you captured the light and and shadows in our venues, as well as such beautiful pictures of our guests and hilarious pictures too!”
