Hannah & Andrew’s Wedding at Kingscote Barn

A sunshine-filled Cotswolds wedding with champagne, live music, and a brilliant back up plan that stole the show.

Hannah and Andrew both got ready on site at Kingscote Barn, which set the tone for a calm, unhurried day where everything happened in one beautiful place. Hannah was in the dressing room with her bridesmaids and Mum while Andrew got ready in one of the wooden pods his groomsmen. The gents had jobs to take care of around the venue and Hannah put the finishing touches to the wedding cake.

Hannah’s Dad popped in once they were ready, and they shared a sweet first look before walking across to the ceremony.

It felt really tranquil in the barn for the ceremony, thanks to their pianist (Phil Blandford) playing as everyone took their seats. They had a family friend as the registrar, which helped keep the nerves at bay too. Once everything was signed, Malc headed up to the mezzanine to get a photo with all the guests before Hannah & Andrew walked down the aisle in a joyful shower of confetti.

The excitement levels went up and up with the champagne tower straight after the ceremony and a huge grazing table of snacks. Guests grabbed refreshments and chatted outside in the sunshine while Phil continued on piano in the background.

We worked through family and bridal party group photos, then let the rest happen naturally with informal groups of friends forming throughout the afternoon. Hannah and Andrew had clearly thought about giving people time to enjoy being together, which always makes such a difference.

We snuck away with Hannah and Andrew for couple photos, starting down by the lake and slowly wandering back towards the venue once guests had moved inside. We were alongside some of our favourite videographers, Olivia Made This and What Chris Did, which always makes the creative side feel like even more of a team effort.

"The setting was beautiful, we were lucky that the thunderstorms cleared and we could get outside to enjoy being in such a beautiful place."

The ceremony space was transformed with long tables and heaps of candles. We loved watching the guests come in and discover the photos of themselves as their place settings; there were so many fun reactions. They took their seats and it was time for the speeches. Hannah’s dad, Andrew, the best man, Hannah, and her sister Liz all spoke, striking that perfect balance between heartfelt and funny. There were plenty of laughs and more than a few emotional moments.

We LOVED their menu of gnocchi and Italian sharing dishes that felt generous and sociable. Thank you Epic Catering.

"We were just round the corner when our guests went into the dinner and we loved hearing the reactions to the Polaroid name cards, and the photos were even better!"

As the sun dipped, the party shifted gears. The first dance opened the evening set from Bristol Pop Orchestra who had stepped in at the last minute after their original band had to pull out. They arrived with sequins and brass instruments and absolutely smashed it. The last song of their first set was a dad and daughter dance, which felt like a beautifully timed pause before pizza was served and the night rolled on.

Hannah changed into a second dress for the second set, less formal and perfect for dancing, complete with light up shoes (Andrew wore some too) that were impossible to miss on the dancefloor. The band returned for their second set, and the energy only climbed from there.

Later on, we headed back outside with the bridal party for champagne photos after dark, leaning fully into the champagne theme that had run right through the day. From start to finish, it was one of those weddings where everything felt intentional but never forced, full of warmth, music, and surrounded by energetic friends.

"Bristol Pop Orchestra were so much fun and we are so glad that they could make it at such late notice since our original band had to drop out last minute."

“ All of our guests have said how great you were, they all loved chatting with you, and we felt at ease all day, and the photos are really beautiful. ”
