Henry & Sofi’s Wedding at home

Part wedding, part festival, part joyful chaos. Henry and Sofi absolutely committed to the vibe.

Their engagement photos

High DIY, low stress, and shaped entirely around having a good time with their favourite people. Henry and Sofi wanted their day to feel like a festival with a wedding at its heart, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear they had made it happen.

We first met Henry at his sister’s wedding, so it felt extra lovely to be back with their family again. From the start, they told us they wanted to keep things relaxed. Go with the flow, keep group photos brief, and focus on time together. A dream brief.

They did the work to craft a wedding that would work for them and their people, and got them on board for the plan in advance. They invited guests to camp on site for a full festival experience and amazing branding by Henry’s sister Lucy set the tone perfectly.

They got a good pace throughout the day by playing around with the traditional order of events.

Nailed it you two.

getting ready for the wedding

The morning began at Henry’s parents’ house, where the wedding would later unfold. Henry and Sofi got ready in separate rooms, with plenty of laughter and gentle chaos in both. GUYS… she made her own dress. Soak that up. It’s perfection.

Outside, the weather played its part perfectly, gifting them one of those rare days where everything seems to line up.

the wedding ceremony in Stoke Lacy

The ceremony took place at the beautiful old parish church of St Peter and St Paul’s in Stoke Lacy, just a short walk across the road from the party house. It was the most traditional part of the day, and still full of fun. The groomsmen took on traffic control duties in high-vis vests, and Dennis the dog delivered the rings before spending the rest of the service happily mooching around in the church.

After the ceremony and confetti, Jason from Strawberry Field Vdubz whisked H&S up the hill in a vintage camper van for a quick half at The Plough Inn. Just enough time for a Butty Bach before heading back. We stole a few minutes in the churchyard for couple photos, away from the guests. A mix of silly moments and quiet tenderness (Henry is a softie).

their wedding reception in his parents’ garden

Back at the garden, the afternoon unfolded into lawn games, fizz, and canapés by Shakespeare Kitchen. Background music came courtesy of Lazy Marmalade, setting an easy, summery pace. Cake cutting and speeches were done early, including a brilliant group best men’s speech with an emotional poem from best man and MC Ben. We gathered everyone together for one big group photo on the lawn, taken from the back of the house.

Then it was time for Lovefest.

Food and Festival - LOvefest!

The lower field, usually reserved for grazing, had been transformed into a full festival site. A stunning tipi setup by Java Tipis, flowers everywhere by Jane from Hortensia, and a proper event bar from Bayleys of Bromsgrove serving craft beers and cocktails. Dennis the dog, of course, joined the party.

After food, the pace lifted. Lazy Marmalade returned to kick off the first dance under their giant DIY skull glitter ball. Guests disappeared and reappeared in full festival outfits. The commitment was impressive. There was a surf simulator, street food from Miniyaki's and Food Genie  and live music that just kept coming.

Two music sets from Ruben Seabright followed by an electric performance from Ex Presidents, shipped up from Cornwall for the occasion. Full-tilt 90s and 00s rock, with genuine head-banging energy from Sofi and her mates. She even jumped on stage for a surprise vocal moment, before the night peaked with a mosh pit to finish.

As if that was not enough, the day closed with a fireworks display organised by friends. The perfect end for a wedding that was joyful, loud, thoughtful, and completely true to Henry and Sofi.
