Elizabeth & Emlyn’s Elegant Wedding at Wollaton Hall

A stunning Nottingham wedding with classic style, sweeping views, and a dancefloor that delivered.

Their engagement photos

The faces of children aren’t shown in this wedding gallery, but trust us they were there and the photos are super cute.

Elizabeth and Emlyn’s wedding felt beautifully elegant from start to finish, but in that relaxed way where everyone is completely at ease. The kind of day where the location does the hard work, and the people bring all the warmth.

wedding morning preparations

Elizabeth got ready at Colwick Hall Hotel, tucked inside Colwick Park. It was such a calm place to begin the day. We had such a sweet morning with her bridesmaids and mum. How gorgeous is this room? Even sitting on the floor doing your makeup looks so elegant.

Meanwhile, Emlyn got ready at their house in Nottingham with his two best men. It was relaxed, a bit of music on in the background, and plenty of quiet anticipation before heading over to Wollaton Hall.

Their Nottingham Wedding Ceremony

Arriving at Wollaton Hall never gets old. The grand approach alone sets the tone for something special. We stopped off for a few photos with the house in the distance, and even got to spot the deer!

The ceremony itself was simple and heartfelt, in the jaw-dropping Great Hall. Afterwards, everyone gathered on the steps for that iconic full group photo, then lined the path to the gardens to throw confetti.

Drinks and canapés followed in the camellia house, with guests mooching in the gardens, soaking up the sun. We gathered some family groups before heading off for couple portraits, making the most of the rooftop views, and the beautiful light at the top of the building. Wollaton Hall really is one of those venues that gives you photo spots at every turn.

their wedding reception at Wollaton Hall

Dinner was served with everyone gathered back in the great hall, and the speeches rounded off the meal perfectly. As some of the tables were cleared, the room transformed for the evening celebrations. The bar became a steady hub of conversation, while the main space shifted towards party mode.

They cut the cake before the first dance, and then the band (Byron and the Lords) kicked in with punk energy. The dancefloor filled quickly and stayed that way. Classic tunes, proper dancing, and the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer.

We set up our photo booth at the back of the room with their ribbon backdrop. It slotted in perfectly with the elegant styling and gave guests a chance to let loose. We loved the huge cutouts of their cats. Guests were popping in all evening to leave photos and messages.
