Sophie and Carl’s WEDDING at Whirlowbrook hall, Sheffield
It was great to be back at Whirlowbrook Hall. Extra special to get to join Carl and Sophie. Malc and Carl were at school together and this reunion was a highlight of Malc’s whole year.

Carl got ready at his best man’s house with the groomsmen. They were at Whirlowbrook Hall in time for a quick whiskey before greeting all the guests.
Sophie was in a very busy getting-ready room at Whilrlowbrook with her bridesmaids and Mum getting ready, a team of hair and make-up ladies to help. Her flower girl and page boy were mooching around too.

I’m pretty sure the biggest excitement of the day was for Teddy, their dog, arriving for the ceremony. What a good boy! He sat with their guests to watch as Sophie and the girls walked down the aisle and throughout the ceremony.
After the ceremony Carl & Sophie asked to go for photos with Teddy to have a moment away from the rest of the wedding busyness. Autumn at Whirlowbrook is just stunning so we had plenty of good spots to explore for photos.
When we got back their guests were outside enjoying the gardens and games with a drink or two. We love that Sophie and Carl had planned in plenty of time to chat with their guests outside before being seated for their wedding meal.
The room for the wedding breakfast is beautiful, sparkling with fairy lights and with big windows overlooking the lawn. Dinner and speeches were fun. Their dog was running around getting pats from everyone and Nigel the best man nailed his speech with a story of how he met Carl when his arm got stuck in a banister at school.
A shout out to Carl’s sister too, who made their beautiful wedding cake!
There was more time to relax before the party got going. Lots of guests sat chatting outside while others got stuck into a couple of board games, which lasted until after dark.
