Gary and Heather’s WEDDING at Abbeywood Estate

Their engagement photos

These two are so precious to us. Their wedding was an incredibly beautiful celebration of what brought them together.

wedding morning preparations

Gary and the guys got ready at his friends’ house. They happen to serve great coffee so Malc was in his element.

The ladies were already on site at Abbeywood with friends to help with hair and make up. Heather DIYed her own flowers with help of a service called Lush By You (definitely check them out if you’re tempted to have a go at your own wedding florals).

“Do it YOUR way. The best compliment we got on the day was that it felt like us. Every decision we made about what to include or exclude was intentional. We chose not to have a cake because it didn't really matter to us but we knew we wanted a live band because we're both musicians. We didn't do anything 'just because' or for the sake of tradition and, as such, we had the day that we wanted and really represented us as a couple.”

the wedding ceremony at Abbeywood Estate

It was drizzly which made for a mad dash over to the glasshouse for the ceremony, but I think there’s something romantic about arriving in the rain.

“ We had a friend officiate and he absolutely nailed the tone of the day. It was the perfect mix of laughter, tears and wisdom. Seeing each other for the first time at the alter was one of the best moments of our lives.”

Guests made a tunnel of confetti outside to kick off the reception. We loved how excited they were to celebrate Gary and Heather, there’s such a mountain of support behind these two. There’s also a whole heap of musical pals, so several people sang a song or two while guests chatted in the Garden Cafe.

Thankfully the rain had cleared when it was time for group photos in the gardens then some couples photos for Gary and Heather as guests were seated back in the glasshouse.

The meal was fun with kids noodling about and guests using their wedding favors- tattoos of Gary & Heather! Remember that overflow of support? Well it really came to the mic for the speeches. There were so many stories told and beautiful wishes for their future together.

Their wedding party

The evening brought more food- probably the best fries we’ve had at a wedding- and more celebrations. The band were incredible which meant the crowd got going, which in turn got the band to take it up a level!

“We also loved performing with the band in the evening as music is such an important part of our lives and it felt like our friends and family really enjoyed it as well.”

So many happy memories- happy anniversary G&H - love Nom x

“The whole wedding was so much more fun and chill due to you guys and your guidance throughout the day. Every step of the way you were both there to tell us what to expect, take care of any little issue that cropped up and generally make sure we had the best time.”
