stacey and ashley’s WEDDING at The Tithe Barn, Symondsbury Estate

My abiding memories of this wedding are just of sunshine and laughter. And gardens with flowers and animals. It sounds spot on for this romantic vet couple.

wedding morning preparations

Isn’t the cottage sweet that Stacey and her family had for getting ready in the morning? It was extra fun that they had their dogs with them too.

Their engagement photos

the wedding ceremony at The Symonsbury estate

The sun was shining as people started to arrive at the barn. They had groomsmen on the gate handing out their mini-newspaper order of services.

The bridesmaids gathered outside the huge glass doors to walk in. I love the shot Malc got as Stacey walks down the aisle where you can see the emotion on all their parents’ faces. What a perfect story in one little frame.

It was extra special that one of Stacey’s sisters was able to do a reading in the ceremony despite feeling really ill in the morning.

The newly weds greeted all their guests as they filed out into the sunshine a lined the path for a confetti tunnel. The barn was a gorgeous backdrop for a group photo of the whole wedding and a flock of birds flew over head at just the right moment.

We found a shaded spot under some trees for family photos to help keep everyone cool. Their special guest before dinner was Luna their dog! We took a little stroll with her for some photos before carrying on round the farm to see a few other animals.

their wedding reception

Dinner was wonderful. Hungry Mule smashed it out of the park. The barn is a really beautiful space and the old stone walls made for a gorgeous backdrop to some very amusing speeches.

There were some extra sweet contributions from friends at this wedding. One had make the cake, which tasted as good as it looks. Another had found a rock on the beach that morning and decorated it with details from the wedding.

After sunset we gathered back in the barn to watch Stacey and Ashley have their first dance. Then everyone got to join in with a bit of ceilidh dancing, which went down a treat.

As a special request, Stacey asked for a song for one of her bridesmaids. Sam and Zoe couldn’t have dancing at their wedding because of covid restrictions so it was a really sweet idea. Extra special for us because we photographed their wedding too.

There was a brief pause in the dancing to cut the cake and go outside for sparklers. While we were out there the hog roast was ready. Then it was time to crack on with more dancing.

Happy anniversary S&A, thanks for having us!
