ben and amy’s WEDDING at Bourton Hall, Rugby

A crisp Winter’s day might just be my favourite for a wedding, but if you need convincing read on. Amy & Ben’s stunning day was full of elegant details and finished with a great party.

wedding morning preparations

When Amy first got in touch with us she was concerned about how the photos would go for a Winter wedding. When we woke up to this beautiful frosty morning we knew she’d got nothing to worry about.

Amy and the girls had the bridal suite for getting ready while the boys were down the driveway in the gatekeepers cottage.

St Mary’s is a little, old and chilly church but it was full of friends and family for Amy & Ben. The deep red bridesmaids’ dresses looked excellent alongside the Christmas tree and gold details in the church. We love that backdrop of stained glass as they said their vows and exchanged the rings.

Amy and Ben left the church through a flurry of confetti. Check out that gorgeous blue sky as they jump back into the wedding car.

their wedding reception at Bourton Hall

Back at Bourton Hall we had time to explore the grounds for photos of Amy and Ben. How gorgeous is the light with the sun low in the sky?

Once guests had arrived we had to use a little gentle persuasion to gather the family group photos outside. Inside was warm and full of drinks! We love all the beautiful spaces inside Bourton, so it was no problem to keep getting photos after the sun went down.

Amy and Ben were announced intro he wedding breakfast. There was lots of fun over dinner. During the speeches guests toasted their wedding favours which were mini bottles of booze. And Ben’s sweet little niece Freya joined in the applause.

We set up the Photo Booth in the lounge while there was a brief pause. Lots of guests took a moment to head up to their rooms- there were lots of fantastic outfit changes for the evening.

The evening got started with Amy and Ben cutting the wedding cake. Then they took their first dance with guests watching from the staircase above and sprinkling confetti.

Their singing waiters tripped on to the dance floor to surprise everyone with some songs and led the whole wedding in a conga through to the dance floor. They got everyone singing along with phone torches swaying and even started a dance off. It was a good night of booging, drinking and the occasional cigar.

“A massive thank you to both. You really are more than photographers, you did everything to help our day go perfect and smooth.”
