Kathy's Birthday: Part 2, Party Time

10 reasons why Ian & Francesca's wedding was amazing (and why you should look at it here)
1. Their wedding cake was 16 layers high, decorated with bunting and flags.
2. Each guest's place setting had a ball of playdoh for modelling as they wished.
3. They'd really thought through the wider impact of their wedding and majored on recycled options and fantastic fair trade products.
4. Their reception venue was a play farm where Fran used to work. They utterly transformed the breeze-block barn with lights and balloons. (This is their venue) There were baby animals!
5. They had a second cake- 5 tiers of cheese.
6. The whole wedding party wore Tom's.
7. The first dance was a flashmob style barn dance with their bridesmaid, groomsmen and groomsmaids all taking part. (This is their band). Later all their guests danced in a circle round them an sprinkled good wishes on them.
8. They served made-to-order stone baked pizzas as their wedding breakfast. (These guys where great)
9. They also had food stalls around their reception room with pic 'n' mix sweets, gourmet popcorn (from here) sampling, cheese wedding cake and jars of jelly and ice-cream.
10. Each car load of guests completed a car quiz trail on the way to the reception, following clues and competing for a box of prizes.
Ben & Clarey's Wedding

These guys got engaged in one of our favourite places and we couldn't resist going there to make them a special piece of wedding beach art. And we love these guys so much that we thought we'd also throw in a little wedding stop motion movie of their day without them noticing.

We spent last Saturday in the beautiful Midlands town of Bewdley for the nuptials of Simon & Laura. These guys are awesome fun and really relaxed, which made it a good day for us and all involved. Laura is the polar opposite of a bridezilla and Simon is her perfect partner in crime.
There'll be plenty more details over here shortly including some loads of cute kids, a Great British feast and their very own dirty dancing moment. In his wedding talk their vicar told them never to stop taking risks or having fun and these chaps started as they mean to go on...

Parish Weekend Away
We spent this weekend being children's workers in Staverton on the St Philip's & St James' church weekend away. We had a tun of fun working with the 4 to 11 year olds learning about showing God's light. On Saturday the children made a backdrop which we then set up as a photo booth at the party that evening. Thanks for having us Dorridge!

| Our first dance was a fairly pimping Strip the Willow accompanied by our live band (four friends from beach mission and a new friend who called the instructions). I got to dance with every man present (and Malc danced with every woman) twice as we weaved our way down the line of assembled friends and relatives. Constantly spinning all that way was a bit of a epic adventure but I loved it, though I do remember yelling "Please help me I think I'm going to die" to one of the guys near the end of the first lap. |

21 Again
Mum threw a garden party to celebrate her big birthday. She made a tun of tiny cakes so that everyone could try a bit of each and most people didn't stop at one, particularly with the mini-meringues (topped with chocolate paste).
There was a hammock and two sofas in the garden to lounge on. We decorated with swathes of bunting and a spot of reused tissue paper...
Drank a fair bit of Pimms...
Milled around chatting...
And did a spot of photo boothing in the summer house!

We've only had a couple of experiences of photo booths at weddings but that has been enough to convince us that they are worthwhile. Its likely that you'll get guests in here who don't make it into other formal groups and that everyone will be much more themselves.
At their most basic it can be very easy to set up a photo booth for guests to take their own photos, and you can add in any extras to make it personal.
Here's an idea of a simple setup: camera on tripod (operated by a remote, by the user), back drop (could be anything), props and lighting if required.
