Nidhiya and Vithul's Engagement, Winterbourne House
Vithul’s surprise proposal to Nidhiya at Winterbourne House and Gardens was one of those quietly magical moments. He reached out to me a little while before the day with a plan already forming, and we hopped on a couple of calls to talk through ideas, timings, and the perfect spot in the gardens. He had such a thoughtful vision, and it was fun helping him shape it into something that felt truly “them.”
When the day arrived, Winterbourne was looking beautiful, ready for the photo shoot. I hung back, pretending to photograph the flowers while they wandered through the gardens. Then, right by one of the tucked-away spots we’d chosen, Vithul took a deep breath, stepped in front of her, and dropped to one knee. Isn’t Nidhiya’s reaction the cutest?
After the big “yes!”, we spent some time exploring the grounds for a relaxed engagement session. Although they were a little nervous, Vithul and Nidhiya were both so easy and natural together that photographing them felt more like tagging along on a walk than anything posed.
Afterwards, Vithul shared the kindest words:
“I had reached out to Malcolm to capture our proposal and it was genuinely such a wonderful experience working with him. As it was a surprise, we spoke a few times beforehand to go over my ideas and he offered a few suggestions that really helped bring everything together.
On the day he made us feel relaxed and at ease… Once we got the photos it was safe to say it was way beyond our expectations! I would truly recommend Malcolm for any and all of your special moments.”
Working for couples like these two is why we love being photographers. Winterbourne was beautiful … but watching the joy and connection between Vithul and Nidhiya was the real highlight.
