Jess & Josh’s WEDDING at newton park barn, bedford

A huge team of wedding vendors and wonderful friends made this day incredibly special. It was raining and there was a coronation trying to steal everyone’s attention, but this wedding was unstoppable.

wedding morning preparations at the Albero Lounge Bedford

Josh works at the Albero Lounge and the staff there gave us the warmest welcome. Josh and Jess each had a room to get ready in upstairs with their families and groomsmen. The staff came out to wave them off when left for the wedding.

It was a surreal moment as Jess walked down the aisle, we could hear the audio from Westmintster Abbey of the coronation playing on TV with Jess’ entrance music coming from the marquee.

Their friend Sam was registrar, it is so reassuring to have a friendly face taking you through the vows. Guests watched from the marquee as they got married just inside the barn. Even George their dog was fascinated by the ceremony.

With all the legal bits out of the way friends and family mingled in the marquee while we took family photos in the shelter of the house.

their wedding reception

KK Catering cooked up a delicious carvery dinner served from their van just outside the door and guests took their seats at tables in the barn. Then Jess’ Dad and Best Man Spencer made their speeches. And Jess cried.

They had a folk duo to play in the marquee and the children loved dancing, spinning round with bubbles and dancing with the train of Jess’ dress.

It dried up a little and we headed outide to play with the lawn games and have a very soggy go on the bouncy castle. Then took a wander down by the lakes with Jess and Josh for some photos and made it back in time to have the first Belgian fried from their evening food van. In the barn there was a pop corn and candy floss stand, which was very popular.

Their cake was made by a long-time friend of Jess and Jess’ reaction to it was perfect. There were cookies too. Jess & Josh cut the cake and had their first dance. Then the DJ played two special songs for Caleb their page boy to really get the fun started for the evening.

Everyone came outside for a confetti-throwing session just as it started to get a bit dark. Confetti in the dark and rain is not how anyone had planned it but it was so much fun and I love how the multicoloured polka dots look on the back of Jess’ dress.

Josh and the boys snuck off to pretend to play some games just for a quick photo because they knew Jess wouldn’t approve of games at their wedding. Who doesn’t love a harmless little prank on their wedding day!The photo booth was in the marquee while guests chatted in the barn and George the dog hung out with some of his pals outside.

What a marvellous celebration of you two- with love, Nom x
