Group Photography Lesson at the Zoo!

In 2020 I’ve done a few photography lessons with people before they head off on a big holiday- such a fun way to get ready for your trip! Today I’m sharing some pictures of a group photography lesson at the zoo. I LOVE MY JOB.

“I wouldn't have got the photos I did without the lesson with you.”

Marge, Alex and Martin wanted to learn how to take control of the settings on their cameras before heading on safari. It was the perfect excuse for a photography lesson and to squeeze me for camera tips. Plus these three are housemates which made social distancing so much easier.

We had chat before our lesson started to find out what these guys already knew and what they wanted to master before their trip.

I talked them through the basics of photography and got them started using fully manual settings on their cameras. The zoo gave us a variety of environments to work in- lots of fast moving action, darker areas, long distance shots and practice using manual focus too.

If you’re getting to grips with your camera and want to learn some more skills get in touch.

It doesn’t matter how much you know or what camera you're using. I had a one-to-one lesson with Adam over summer too, he was getting to know his new bridge camera before a motorbike road trip around Scotland for his 30th birthday.

Since the lesson Marge, Alex and Martin have been on safari and are back in the UK quarantining at home. They’ve had plenty of time to look through the photos they took.

I LOVE the feedback they’ve sent:

“Still some learning to go, and I can see some missed opportunities. But I probably wouldn't have noticed them without the lesson, and extra ideas and skills it gave me.”

Check out the pictures they’ve shared from their trip… It looks like they had an amazing time.
